A Tragic Day...

Today was a tragic day in Jeffreys Bay. This morning, one of the VMC 4th-year student leaders, Chantelle Windvogel, died in a tragic drowning accident. The students had been enjoying a special "family day" at St Francis beach when a freak current swept a number of students out to sea. Most of them were able to swim against the current and reach land, but two of the girls had to be pulled from the sea. Kerstie, a first year student in the Worship Academy, was thankfully able to be revived; she remains in hospital but in stable condition. Unfortunately, despite all efforts from medical personnel, Chantelle was not able to be revived. She was 21 years old.

Please remember in your prayers the Windvogel family, VMC leaders Andre & Marike von Mollendorf, Chantelle's fiance Matt Esslinger, and all of the students who tried desperately to save her.

This is a great loss to all who knew and loved her!
